      Getting Started with Mokkup AI

      Mokkup's AI feature takes dashboard wireframing to the next level by helping you build layouts through a conversation. Whether you're starting from scratch or refining a draft, you can chat with Mokkup AI to shape your dashboard step by step. This article walks you through how to use it.

      What is Mokkup AI?

      Mokkup AI is an AI-powered assistant built into the dashboard builder. It enables two key actions:

      • Generate Wireframe: Create a dashboard layout through a chat-based conversation with the AI.
      • Review Wireframe: Analyze an existing wireframe for layout suggestions, UX improvements, and best practice checks.

      Note: Since this feature is powered by AI, it might not always be 100% accurate. Make sure to review the wireframe before moving ahead.

       How to Generate a Dashboard Wireframe with AI

      There are two ways to generate a dashboard wireframe using AI in Mokkup.

      Option 1: From the Homepage

      1. Log in to Mokkup.ai: 

      2. Click on “Create with Mokkup AI”

      • You’ll find a “Create with Mokkup AI” button on the homepage dashboard.

      3. Fill in Project Details

      • A pop-up window will appear. Add your project name and other required fields. Once done, click Save Changes to proceed.

      4. Start the Conversation

      • The AI chat opens. Describe what you want, for example: "I need a sales dashboard with KPI cards, a revenue trend chart, and a regional breakdown."

      5. Click on “Generate Dashboard”

      • The AI will process your prompt and generate a complete layout.

      6. View the Generated Screen

      • Your project will now have a new wireframe layout created based on your prompt. You can add additional screens by repeating the same process with different prompts.

      Note: The layout is optimized using best practices based on your prompt domain (e.g., sales, healthcare, marketing.

      Option 2: From Project Section

      1. Open an Existing Project

      • Navigate to Projects and open the one you want to work on.

      2. Open the Left Menu Panel

      • On the left sidebar, click on “Create with Mokkup AI”.

      3. Start the Conversation

      • The AI chat opens. Describe the dashboard you have in mind, for example: "Generate a marketing dashboard with top KPIs, a trend chart, and filters."

      4. Refine Through Chat

      • Continue chatting to swap chart types, rearrange sections, add BI elements, or shift the focus of the dashboard.

      5. View the Wireframe

      • The screen appears in your project as the conversation progresses. Start new conversations to create more screens.

      How to Review a Wireframe with AI

      Need a second pair of eyes on your wireframe? Review Wireframe lets Mokkup AI step in and look at your layout, then share suggestions before you take it forward.

      What it Checks: Mokkup AI looks at things like layout structure, element grouping, and overall visual balance. Useful for teams who want their dashboard designs to stay clean, clear, and aligned with best practices.

      How to Run a Review:

      1. Open the screen you want to review.
      2. From the screen's navbar, open Review Wireframe.
      3. Add a prompt if you want the AI to focus on a specific area, then start the review.
      4. Mokkup AI returns its suggestions, which you can apply to your wireframe.

      How to Top Up Coin Balance?

      You can top up your Coins balance directly from within the dashboard builder whenever you need more for generating or reviewing wireframes, or for BI export. Here's how:

      1. Open any project inside the dashboard builder, or open the "Create with AI" panel from the left sidebar.
      2. Click Buy Coins/Request coin, shown next to your current Coins balance.
      3. Choose which account to add Coins to – Individual (your personal balance) or a specific Team (if you're part of one and want to top up the shared team wallet).
      4. Select a Coins bundle: 250 Coins ($50), 500 Coins ($80), or 750 Coins ($105).
      5. Review your purchase and confirm payment.
      6. Your new Coins are added immediately and are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.

      Note: Coins are a single, unified currency. The same balance covers AI Wireframing, AI Review, Convo AI, and BI Export. There's no separate "AI Coins" conversion step anymore. Whatever Coins you buy or have allocated are usable across every feature.
